Volvos Trucks has signed an agreement to sell 1,000 electric trucks from 2023 to 2030 to Holcim, a Swiss supplier of construction equipment.

The contract is the largest commercial order for Volvo electric trucks in the world. The first 130 trucks will be delivered from this year to 2024 operating in Europe.

130 Volvo FH and Volvo FM electric trucks will be delivered to Holcim’s operating locations in France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK in the fourth quarter of this year.

“Long-term cooperation and strong commitment to really make a difference is very important to achieve CO2 reduction. I am very proud to reach this agreement, Martin Lundstedt, President & CEO of the Volvo Group quoted from Volvo’s official website, Friday ( 26/ 5).

The company claims that by replacing 1,000 Volvo FH diesel trucks with Volvo FH Electric trucks, it can reduce 50 thousand tons of CO2 every year.

Until now, a number of truck manufacturers in the world have focused on selling electric trucks, from Daimler, UD Trucks, Fuso, Scania, Iveco and others.
