Diesel versions include the 2-liter TDI that is offered in three power versions, with 122, 150 and 200 hp. The 122 hp version is only included with a six-speed manual transmission, while the power over 150 hp can also be equipped with a DSG automatic transmission. The latter can also be equipped with a 4MOTION four-wheel drive system. The 200 version is only offered with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
Volkswagen offers The updated Tiguan for the first time also with a plug-in hybrid drive system (petrol engine 1.4 TSI 150 hp and electric motor 115 hp). The combined power in the Tiguan eHybrid is 245 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm.
Freedom within pure electric mode (according to WLTP) is about 50 km, and the maximum speed in this case reaches 130 km / h. Above this speed, the SUV automatically switches to hybrid mode.
More than environmental friendliness, government equipment (zero charge, free access to Ring and exempt from public parking fees), the updated Tiguan plug-in hybrid version also offers strong performance.
At the same time, all versions offer a low cost of use, with the plug-in hybrid having a pre-tax retail price of less than 40,000 euros and suitable for corporate use.
