Volkswagen presented the new Touareg

Volkswagen updates the 3rd generation Touareg with extensive improvements to the suspension and screen concept.

The most interesting thing is the change of HD matrix lights in the front and LED rear lights, which are implemented as a single light strip.

The model has improved its suspension. Among other things, it is now standard equipment with a new roof load sensor that is directly connected to the suspension electronics. If a roof load is detected, it allows a control system such as ESC (Electronic Stability Control) to intervene early to increase driving stability. On the contrary, if there is no roof load, the system enables more sports performance.

Standard equipment also includes the Innovision Cockpit. It includes the Digital Cockpit and the advanced Discover Pro Max entertainment system. Various functions of the Innovision Cockpit, such as precise route navigation and high-resolution HD map data, have been improved in the new model.

The new Touareg will be available in five powertrain versions. In addition to the turbocharged gasoline engine, there is a choice between two turbodiesel engines and two plug-in hybrids. All high-performance engines come standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION permanent four-wheel drive.

The Touareg R eHybrid is the top model in the range with the most powerful drive system. It consists of a V6 petrol engine and an electric motor with a system output of 340 kW (462 hp). The latest generation continues the long tradition of Touareg R models with advanced features and model-specific equipment. All are made by Volkswagen R, Volkswagen’s flagship performance brand.

The Touareg will be available in Greece at the end of 2023, in the Elegance version with two diesel and plug-in engines.
