Although the abbreviation “GTI” often refers to the Golf, we must not forget the company’s other names, the Volkswagen Polo GTI, which this year completes 25 years of presence on the market.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Volkswagen Polo GTI, Wolfsburg developed a special limited edition version, which was also made for the Golf.
The Polo GTI debuted in 1988 and is now in its sixth generation, being one of the few remaining GTi’s in the supermini segment.
The 25th edition of the Volkswagen Polo GTI, as the model is called in full, will be produced in 2,500 units and will go on sale from June 1, 2023.
On the outside, the Volkswagen Polo GTI Edition 25 is distinguished by edition stickers, new 18” black wheels and a gloss black finish found on the mirrors and roof.
For this special edition, Volkswagen also has a special color palette that includes Smoke Gray Metallic, Pure White, Ascot Grey, Reef Blue Metallic, Deep Black Pearl Effect and Red Kings Red Metallic.
In addition, the 25th Edition of the Volkswagen Polo GTI is characterized by a suspension lowered by 1.5 centimeters and LED belly lights, however no intervention has been made to the mechanical profile. This version is also equipped with a two-liter TSI of 207 PS which is combined with a 7-speed DSG7 dual-clutch gearbox.
It should be noted that this version of the Polo GTI acquires more collector character since, as everything indicates, there will be no new generation for the famous supermini due to environmental pollution.
