VinFast has presented its range of right-hand drive vehicles (EVs) at this year’s Indonesia International Motor Show. At the event, the Vietnamese automaker showcased the VF5, VF e34, VF6, VF7, VF8 and VF9, with the first four models expected to be sold in Indonesia to include segments A to C.
At the event, the company said it will partner with local distributors to establish a tolling network across the country, while also announcing partnerships with five dealers. It also revealed that it will supply 600 EVs through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by three Jakarta-based companies, namely PT Energi Mandiri Bumi Pertiwi, PT Sumber Amarta Jaya and PT Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk.
In terms of model delivery, VinFast has opened order books for two models in the A- and B-SUV segments, namely the VF5 and VF e34 respectively. More details such as model pricing, ordering times and after-sales policies will be announced within the first half of 2024, the company noted.
These efforts are based on the company’s previous announcement that it will set up an EV manufacturing plant in Indonesia. With an investment capital of 18.6 trillion rupiah (about RM5.7 billion) the factory is expected to have a capacity of 50,000 units annually and create thousands of jobs.

As for the VF e34, it is 4,300 mm long, 1,768 mm wide, 1,615 mm long and its wheelbase is 2,611 mm. The larger size also sees an increased boot capacity of 290 liters, while the ground clearance is listed at 180 mm.
The VF e34 also has an electric motor at the front, although it has more power than 150 PS (148 hp or 110 kW) for 0-100 km / h of almost nine seconds. There is also a higher capacity battery of 44.5 kWh, although the claimed range is 318.6 km (NEDC) specific – 10-70% SoC takes 27 minutes.
The VF5 is offered in six color schemes, including two two-tone options with a white roof, while the VF e34 comes in monochrome colors. Interestingly, the warranty varies for these models, with the VF5 being covered for seven years, while it is 10 years for the VF e34.
