Vasseur: Ferrari will present updates at every race

In Monaco, Ferrari have introduced a number of improvements that would have debuted at the canceled Imola GP, and the Italian team will unveil further improvements next week at the Barcelona GP.

Scuderia boss Frederic Vasseur said the Barcelona upgrade was just one step in an ongoing effort to improve the SF-73.

He added that Ferrari decided not to present a big improvement package every five Grands Prix, but to bring small improvements in each race until the end of the season.

Vasseur emphasized that although Ferrari knows it cannot chase this year’s championship, it has not yet “thrown in the towel” as it is constantly trying to improve the car and understand where it needs improvement.

He remains hopeful that the SF-23’s good performance in qualifying can give Ferrari the chance to win Sunday’s race on the narrow streets of Monaco.

From the beginning I think we were always able to fight for pole position. And when you have to start from the front row, I think in Monaco you can expect to win, or at least have a chance to do so. And it is certainly a good opportunity for us. Let’s see what happens on Saturday, before the match on Sunday. Step by step.

What you can say about Monaco is that the pace of qualifying is more important than it was in Miami or Baku a few weeks ago.

This means we are fully focused on qualifying, but like everyone, no one is preparing for the race on the grid, that would be nonsense. We are fully focused on qualifying. And I think we were on the same qualifying pace as Miami and Baku, and maybe the track suits our car better. We have good hopes of qualifying.
