Toyota is strengthening its global leadership by increasing its market share

Representing 13 out of every 100 cars sold in the world, Toyota increased its market share from 12.65 percent in 2021 to 13 percent with this achievement. Thus, it continued its leadership role by selling 10.5 million vehicles out of 80.67 million sold worldwide. Toyota, which managed to increase its global market share by 0.3 percent, came out on top mainly due to its sales of hybrids and SUVs.

In addition to being the most preferred brand worldwide, Toyota also became the best-selling model due to its wide range of models and power units. According to data shared by JATO Dynamics, the Toyota RAV4 took first place with sales of over 10 million units. The most preferred market for the RAV4 was China with 33 percent, followed by the USA/Canada with 43 percent and European markets with 9.

However, another legendary Toyota model took second place. It has reached a sales performance of around 992,000 units in 2022. Toyota Corolla sedan 53 percent of the model was sold in China, 22 percent in the US/Canada and 6 percent in Europe. According to the published data, Toyota RAV4, Corolla sedan, Camry, Hilux and Corolla Cross and 5 models were among the 10 best-selling models in the world.

Corolla Cross, on the other hand, became one of the most popular models in a very short time, reaching a sales figure of more than 530 thousand in 2022.
