The Volvo EX30 will be the most environmentally friendly model in its segment

The Volvo EX30, which will be the most available member of the family, has the important results of extensive studies focusing on sustainability.

We are now in the final stages of turning the EX30, which is preparing to debut as the most accessible model of Volvo’s product range. Different information continues from official sources of the brand to the representative of the SUV segment, which will be introduced to the world on June 7. The new information coming from the façade of the Volvo EX30, which has emphasized the wealth of standard safety equipment in the past, deals with the process from the side of the environment. We see that great research is being done to put the model, which will be fully electric, at the forefront of its segment in terms of environmental impact. Working on the carbon footprint that can occur during production and the life cycle for this purpose, Vollvo announced that it has reduced the total carbon footprint that can occur as a result of driving more than 200 thousand kilometers to less than 30 tons.

Compared to the fully electric C40 and XC40 models, the EX30, which is ready to hit the road with a 25 percent reduction in its carbon lifecycle, is an important step towards the goal of reducing the total CO2 emissions per vehicle by 40 percent. of 2018 and 2025. Conducting sustainability studies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at multiple stages such as design, development, production, transportation, Volvo is pleased with the results it has achieved at this stage.

The CO2 footprint of the EX30, which is seen as the smallest SUV model in its segment, which uses less material in its production, will be 75 percent lower than existing electric models. Considering that aluminum and steel production are the two main causes of CO2 emissions, this is where the biggest difference can be made. The Swedish manufacturer’s use of less steel and aluminum and more processed materials in the car manufacturing process forms the basis for this step. In fact, when we look at the shared data, we see that almost a quarter of all aluminum used in the production of the Volvo EX30 and almost 17 percent of all steel is recycled.

The same method manifests itself in the car as well. The materials used for the Volvo EX30 show another way to create more sustainable new cars. About 17 percent of all plastic in a car is recycled, from interior components to exterior bumpers. This level attracts attention as the highest level of all Volvo cars produced to date. Inside, a variety of recycled and renewable materials are featured for the seats, dashboard and doors, including denim, linen and cotton blend materials with around 70 percent recycled polyester. In addition to the production process, Volvo’s sustainability measures continue in a comprehensive way with a focus on materials and suppliers.
