In a move that will shock bike fans, French team AG2R Citroën has changed part of its “spectacular” look. Gone are the brown shorts.
AG2R Citroën is one of the longest running teams in cycling. It started as Chazal, founded by Vincent Lavenu. The set was also amazing, even for the 90s.

Later, it became Petit Casino, and AG2R appeared on the kit as a second sponsor in 1997, when the team was called Casino–AG2R Prévoyance.
Finally. AG2R became the title sponsor in 2007, and the brown shorts did well in 2010. For the past 13 years the team has had a unique color of shorts. Many have said they almost resemble a pair of black shorts that have faded from use. In the 2023 Strade Bianche, the French team wore jean shorts, perhaps as a result of the Carrera team from the 1990s.
Sorry AG2R Citroën, but Geoff Kabush rocked the OG denim gravel box
On Monday, the team unveiled its new kit–and the brown has been replaced with black. It is also changing its name as the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team. The team will swap their previous cycling sponsor, BMC, for Decathlon’s Van Rysel bikes in 2024, along with the brand’s helmets and eyewear. In a tweet, the team says it’s a new jersey with a new look. Watch it below.
