The Stellantis Group has announced prices for the 165 kW/225 hp Astra GSe – plug-in hybrid version of the mid-size hatchback: it starts at 45,510 euros.
The model features 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as exclusive AGR-approved GSe seats for the driver and passenger.
Opel Astra GSe and Opel Astra Sports Tourer GSe are the new top-of-the-range Astra models and bring back the famous abbreviation “GSe” – which now stands for the new brand of electric models – and stands for “Electric Grand Sport”.
The plug-in hybrid variants aim to offer high performance, a sporty chassis and electric power steering for indoor driving with no air pollution.
As is standard for the GSe, the Astra GSe and Astra Sports Tourer GSe come with unique 18-inch alloy wheels and feature the signature GSe front bumper and rear diffuser.
Inside, special GSe seats connect the pilot and co-pilot to the vehicle. A full range of modern Opel assistance systems completes the range.
Equipped with this equipment, customers can already order the new Astra GSe saloon today for €45,510 (all retail prices including VAT).
The power unit delivers 165 kW / 225 hp – the 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 133 kW / 180 hp, the electric motor contributes up to 81.2 kW / 110 hp – and a maximum torque of 360 Nm.
Fast departure from traffic lights and high speed of sports are guaranteed. From the start, the five-door sports car accelerates to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds; a maximum speed of up to 235 km / h is possible (only 135 km / h electric). And thanks to the 12.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Astra GSe can travel up to 64 kilometers without pollution according to the WLTP.
The special chassis lowered by 10 millimeters, which Opel installs on the new Astra GSe models, contributes to performance-oriented driving characteristics.
The steering is particularly sporty for the GSe. Special springs and oil pressure shock absorbers for the front and rear wheel suspension, in turn, allow not only power, but also smooth driving.
The Astra GSe model features 18-inch diamond-cut/black alloy wheels, as well as a GSe-specific front fascia, rear diffuser and GSe lettering on the tailgate reveal what the new Astra GSe is all about at first glance.
The front seats are ergonomic GSe Performance with AGR certificate and Alcantara materials. In addition, heated seats and steering wheel ensure a pleasant atmosphere even on cold days.
The portfolio of support systems covers the entire spectrum that Opel currently offers for the Astra. For example, the Intelli-Drive 1.0 system with Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Locking, Pedestrian and Drowsiness Detection, Active Lane Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Cross Traffic Alert and Spot Assist and Automatic speed and stop function.
