BolaSkor.com – News about Lewis Hamilton’s closeness with Ferrari angered Toto Wolff. Mercedes boss said the news is not true.
The British media reported shocking news about a move to Ferrari in the 2024 season. The team carrying the performance horse is reportedly planning to lure Hamilton with a contract offer of up to 40 million pounds.
The issue comes amid uncertainty over Hamilton’s contract extension with Mercedes. The reason is that until now, the athlete from England has not officially signed a new contract because it is still in the negotiation stage.
“These rumors come every two years when we want to sign a new contract. But none of them are true. We discuss naturally without any pressure,” said Wolff, quoted by crash.net.
When asked about the continuation of contract talks with Hamilton, Wolff chose to remain silent. This 51-year-old man reasoned that he was uncomfortable talking about such sensitive matters.
“It was very uncomfortable between two friends, two blood brothers who had been through turmoil for 10 years, suddenly talking about money,” said Wolff.
“I really believe that we will find (a deal) with each other, there is not even a millimeter of doubt from me. I can’t think of anything else. If we produce a competitive car then Hamilton will be winning for a long time. Just look at Tom Brady and what he can do in his 40s.”
