The legendary Mazda 787B returns to Le Mans

The Mazda 787B returns to Le Mans, in the 100th anniversary of the legendary endurance race that it won in 1991.

Mazda announced that story 787B -which won at Le Mans in 1991- will take part in the rally, as it is officially called, which will take place at the world famous venue. Round of the Sarthe in the context of events One hundred years 24 Hours of Le Mans. Therefore, the famous winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will “be there” with other racers who have distinguished themselves at the famous French circuit, before this year’s race, which will be held from 7 to 11 June.

The demonstration will be held on June 9 and 10, while the car will be driven by Yojiro Terada, who has participated in Le Mans in 29 events.

To celebrate him 100th anniversary of the 24 hour racecars that have been distinguished in previous years will be presented as exhibits on July 1 and 2 at Le Mans Museum, which is very close to the Le Mans Sarthe Circuit, where the show will take place. In addition, the Mazda 787B will also take part in a short rally on the afternoon of June 9 and 10 before the start of the 24-hour race.

It is worth mentioning that from June 30 to July 2, the exhibition of Mazda 787B is planned and in Le Mans Classic.

During the Le Mans Centennial Race Week, themed exhibitions will also take place “Japan’s Endless Discovery”cooperation of JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization), Toyota and Mazda. Its visitors will have the opportunity to get in touch with Japanese culture and the manufacturers’ carbon-neutral initiatives.
