The Fabia is very expensive and the Fiesta is ending, so their rival from Hyundai will probably be in trouble for the new one.

Many car companies are cracking down on smaller and cheaper cars under pressure from European regulations, but Hyundai promises them loyalty. So the i20 model was given a facelift, which is not very basic, but the car looks attractive after it. And above all, thanks to him, it will remain sold.
The current version of the Hyundai i20 starts at CZK 309,990. This is not a bad version in the current state of affairs, after all, you have to prepare 60 thousand crowns more for the competing Škoda Fabia. At the time, the Mladoboleslav hatchback was powered by a three-cylinder 1.0 MPI tuned to 80 hp. Although the Korean one is also powered by an atmospheric unit, it is nevertheless a four-cylinder single-twin with 84 horses. And since the Hyundai has short delivery times, there is little logical reason why you should prefer the Skoda.
In addition, the Koreans have no plans to withdraw from this class, so they gave the i20 a facelift. Modern visual improvement is average, because the front is just a redesigned bumper or different graphics of lights. In addition, the brand logo has been moved from the front fascia to the hood. So we can head to the back, where the interior of the lamp has also been slightly renewed. We can also mention the new design of the 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels, but everything remains the same for the base metal of the fifteen-inch wheels and their covers.
However, the automaker has strengthened the color palette with a new shade of Lucid Lime, which you can view in the photo gallery. And it is thanks to him that the updated i20 looks more important than its predecessor or the aforementioned Fabia. In addition, customers will be able to choose the same dimensions inside, after which they can calculate the lime green also in the case of decorative seams or decorations on the door panels and dashboard. At that time, the package also includes the upholstery of the sports seat.
As for the actual changes in the cabin, the base equipment levels can now rely on a 4.2-inch display mounted on the instrument panel. However, as before, customers can also opt for an additional 10.25-inch cockpit with a large multimedia screen. These are compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. We can also mention the wireless payment of mobile phones or modern possibilities through the Internet.
Hyundai has also worked on safety systems, after which, for example, the driving assistant to avoid collisions now includes the detection of cyclists. However, the issue is the engine compartment. The automaker announced that the upgraded version will only be available with a three-liter turbocharged engine that sends 100 or 120 horsepower to the front wheels with the help of a 48-volt hybrid system. A manual or automatic transmission can then take care of their transmission. .
To date, it is the most powerful version of the engine with mild hybrid technology, which, together with the high level of Smart equipment, started at CZK 459,990. So we are curious to know what kind of pricing policy the Koreans will come up with, but we have to wait for more details. Production will only begin in the third quarter of this year, and the automaker adds that other engines should follow, so maybe one or two.
Even if, however, the Koreans decide to go the three-cylinder route again, it probably won’t destroy their hopes of success. The facelifted Hyundai i20 is yet to debut below the Škoda Fabia. From the summer, it will also have one smaller competitor, as Ford ends production of the Fiesta. And with many major automakers moving in the same direction, the i20 is likely to pique interest if it intends to be one of the last of its kind to do business in Europe.
The most noticeable feature of the i20’s upgrade is the new Lucid Lime color. In addition, the hatchback got a different front bumper, and the pictures of the lights also changed. But in the end, the important thing is that he will live, which can be claimed by a small number of his opponents. Photo: Hyundai
