The models were selected based on their performance when new and their reliability as they aged based on data from their Annual CR Member Surveys. The benefit of mining data from past annual surveys is that it gives used car buyers information about which models are reliable and can be good buys as long as their maintenance and upkeep are managed well.

That said, the overview includes the added benefit of discovering how these options have proven to be overall in three key areas for used car shopping: overall performance, engine reliability, and fuel economy. Please note the overview provided is for Toyota models only.

These vehicles performed well in our testing as they demonstrated above-average reliability in our Annual Vehicle Survey for the 2014 to 2023 model years.,” said CR analysts in their recent newsletter.
