Variety has celebrated its 117th birthday. On this occasion, the journalists of the famous magazine published their list of the 100 best films of all time. Find out which feature ranks first…

In celebration of the 117th anniversary of difference, 30 journalists and critics of the popular magazine gathered to establish their top 100 greatest feature films of all time. Recently published, this space brings together films as diverse as King Kong by Merian C. Cooper, ET the Extraterrestrial by Steven Spielberg, Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola, Les Quatre Cents Coups by François Truffaut and Toy Story by Pixar studios.

It is available here in its entirety, the list thus includes works in all genres of cinema, from thrillers to comedies, including animation and science fiction. However, the feature film that took first place in the list is a horror film, well known to moviegoers: the unforgettable Psychosis, directed in 1960 by Alfred Hitchcock.

Worn by Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, this classic, as timeless as it is haunting, tells the tragic story of a young woman, driving to an unknown destination after stealing $40,000 from her bank. During the night, he stops in a strange and deserted motel, he is welcomed by the owner of the place: a certain Norman Bates, who seems to hide many secrets.

Most famous for its unforgettable shower sequence, Psychosis is undoubtedly one of the great classics of the seventh art, and probably remains the most famous film of its director.
