6 Subaru models with EyeSight have won the “IIHS 2017 Top Safety Pick + Safety Award”.
According to a statement released by Subaru, previous achievements by the new Subaru XV (Crosstrek) and WRX models in the Top Safety Pick + (TSP+) awards announced annually by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Legacy, Outback, Forester and It continued in Impreza models as well.
Thus, Subaru won the top prize in the TSP 2018, or IIHS “safe choice” category, with a total of 6 different models.
Subaru’s new XV, WRX, Legacy, Outback, Forester and Impreza models, which feature the EyeSight Safety Immobilization System, have earned the highest safety scores from the IIHS, enabling Subaru to maintain its goal of being the “Safest Brand Cars”.
To receive an IIHS “safest choice” award, “excellent” or “good” in 5 categories (frontal crash, full frontal crash, side crash, roof protection and head protection) determined by the IIHS, depending on the performance of the lamp. “Grades of “acceptable” or “good” are required.
According to the information released, Subaru aims to be the “World’s Safest Car Brand” with the “Subaru Global Platform”, which was first used in the new XV and Impreza. The new platform allows to implement various engine options on it. In addition to conventional engines, all types of engines, including hybrid, rechargeable hybrid or 100 percent electric, can be used on the platform, thus increasing production efficiency.
