Subaru decided to change the European name of the XV to the name used abroad, namely Crosstrek.
The XV is Subaru’s best-selling vehicle in Europe. Up to 40% of its sales in the former continent are accounted for by this compact SUV. So the new generation of the model is very important for the Japanese brand. And it decided to change its European XV name to the name used abroad, namely Crosstrek.
The main change to the drivetrain is the two-liter two-cylinder hybrid, which Subaru calls the e-BOXER. An electric motor with an output of 12.3 kW (16.7 hp) and a torque of 66 Nm is added to the power of the combustion unit of 100 kW (136 hp) and its torque of 182 Nm. The Lineartronic transmission and the continuous transmission transfer the engine power to the symmetrical drive of both axles.

In addition to the ground clearance of 220 millimeters, off-road driving is facilitated by the X-MODE driving mode, which improves the operation of the engine, gearbox and torque distribution between the wheels when driving on unpaved surfaces. The X-MODE mode also includes a downhill driving assistant.

The support systems called EyeSight have a total of fourteen functions, seven of which are new. We’re talking about pre-collision braking, autonomous emergency driving, staying in the driving lane, or recognizing traffic signs with smart cruise control. In addition to the driver fatigue monitoring system, Subaru has also modified the seats to prevent head tilt while driving, which reduces driver fatigue.

Inside, the main feature is the 11.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with improved navigation features. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps can now be connected to the car wirelessly. The manufacturer does not indicate the basic luggage space, but after folding the rear seats, there is a space with a volume of 1,314 liters.

The designers tried to incorporate a sporty-solid look on the outside in the spirit of the brand’s philosophy, which they call Dynamic x Solid. Large black fender and side skirts, along with roof rails and 17- or 18-inch wheel rims, emphasize the Crosstrek’s off-road ambitions. There will be ten body paint colors to choose from.
