In Spain, the Chinese car manufacturer Chery is already in the market with its Omoda brand. Market entry is being prepared for Germany – including an electric car, which was being shown for the first time in Würzburg.

China’s Chery Group is already on the market in Spain with Omoda 5. The company is currently preparing to enter the market in Germany. It is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2025 – and then there will be an electric version alongside the petrol engine currently offered. Chery showed this for the first time at the Automotive Trade Days 2024 in Würzburg.

The electric-only Omoda E5 has an output of 150 kW. In the presented version, the front-wheel drive model has a 61 kWh lithium metal phosphate battery that can be charged from 30 to 80 percent in 28 minutes. According to the original data sheet, the maximum range according to WLTP is km 430, and the manufacturer estimates the consumption of 15.5 kW / h.
