Rivian has begun production of the R1T Dual-Motor

Last April, Rivian announced new options for distribution systems for its models, and yesterday – May 25 – the American company announced that the production of the R1T with two electric motors has begun, at its plant in the city of Normal, Illinois.

Rivian says the launch of the twin-engine R1S and R1T opens up additional production capacity while production of the R1T/R1S Quad-Motor – which has third-party units – continues to ramp up.

Dual-Motor models have one electric motor per axle, making it a four-wheel drive vehicle. The power of the system is 600 horses and 812 Nm of torque in the basic version, while there is also Performance, where the total power is 700 hp and 950 Nm of torque, with Rivian saying that for 0-96 km / h it takes 3.5 seconds .

Finally, I would like to remind you that at the top of the range there is a Quad-Motor AWD system, which produces 835 hp and 1,230 Nm, and 0-96 km / h comes in 3 seconds. The transmission in question is not compatible with the Max Pack, while Rivian is working on it but has not yet released schedule.
