Toyota Material Handling Europe will partner with Croatian technology company Gideon to develop a program for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs).
Toyota Material Handling says that by combining Gideon’s technology with its vehicles, the company will be able to provide automation for a variety of equipment uses and significantly shorten project implementation time.
Gideon has already developed case picking solutions for retail order fulfillment, as well as truck unloading and loading.Â
Gideon chief executive officer Josip Cesic says: ”Toyota’s expertise in equipment handling and market access, combined with Gideon’s software and our focus on special applications provides a value proposition to end users that is unmatched.”

Toyota plans to introduce new application solutions to the market during 2024, starting with order fulfillment solutions for retail distribution.
