At the end of last year, another company was added to the portfolio of Elon Musk, when he bought Twitter for $ 44 billion.
Although he recently announced his successor to the role, he currently remains the CEO of Tesla, Twitter and SpaceX, according to CNBC.
Confusion
Musk talked about trying to manage his program in an interview Tuesday at the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Summit.
My days are very long and difficult as you can imagine, “Musk said. “And there is a lot of context switching,” he said, noting that “changing context is very painful.”
Musk said he generally tries to break up his schedule so that “it’s basically one company a day.”
But this is not always possible. This Tuesday was “Tesla Day,” he said, but “it might end up on Twitter tonight, and tomorrow will be part Tesla day as well, half Twitter, and then Thursday will be half SpaceX, half Tesla Day.”
Time management
He described his work as “interactive” and said that “time management is very difficult.”
The controversy was not good for his investment. Tesla shares lost more than half their value in the two months after the Twitter deal closed last year on concerns that Musk would have less time to focus on the electric car maker even as the market grew more competitive.
At the same time, advertisers stopped or temporarily suspended their campaigns on Twitter, and in March Musk reduced the value of the company to $ 20 billion. Still, Musk said Tuesday that many advertisers are coming back.
He organizes himself
While other executives may delegate their calendar to a secretary or executive assistant, Musk said he makes his own plans. He said he has “one part-time assistant” to help manage his work schedule.
“It’s impossible for someone else to know what the priorities are,” Musk said, adding that he works long hours of the day, until 2 a.m.
