Lucid Air Pure has made it to the Top 10 list of Cars and Drivers | Jackson Progress-Argus Local Partners Content

Having a vehicle featured on the Car & Driver Top 10 list is a major mark of quality for automakers, as it represents that particular vehicle is among the best on the market.

Among the main pillars recognized by the popular automotive publication, a car from the EV marquee running Tesla. (TSLA) – Get a Free Report coattails got the attention of reviewers.

Enter Lucid Air Pure

The Lucid Air Pure, the most affordable trim of the Air sedan, makes its first appearance on the car magazine’s popular cars list.

In his write-up, Car and Driver Associate Editor Austin Irwin wrote that the Air Pure was a “reimagining” of electric vehicles, noting that the $78,975 (before tax credit) car is “a prime example whose driving style, performance , space, and. price it in the right place, which makes you feel like you have a golden ticket instead of a coupon.”

“It’s the most affordable version of an attractive EV,” Irwin said. “Yet even in this lowest grade, it offers better EPA ratings than the most expensive or long-range electrics from Tesla, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, or any other EV manufacturer on the market.”

According to Lucid (LCID) – Get a Free ReportThe Air Pure has an estimated range of 419 miles between costs and 430 horsepower.

Additionally, Irwin praised Lucid’s ability to pack the car with only the essentials in a way that is true to its ‘Clean’ name.

“Cleaners only sacrifice what is easy to live without,” Irwin said. “It wears a body-colored metal roof instead of glass, the frunk lid isn’t strong, the front seats aren’t ventilated, and the windshield isn’t heated.”

Other entries on the Top 10 Car and Driver list include Honda Accord, Honda Civic, Cadillac CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing models, Acura Integra Type S, Porsche 718 Boxster/Cayman, Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT86, Chevrolet Corvette. and Corvette E-Ray and Toyota Prius.
