Lewis Hamilton Explains Terms of New Contract with Mercedes

TEMPO Co, Jakarta – Formula 1 racer from Team Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton, reacting to widespread reports that he will leave for Ferrari.

There were rumors last weekend that Ferri was preparing a big bet to convince him to join. This year is the last date of the contract with Mercedes that he signed in 2021.

The seven-time F1 World Champion has denied any contact with Ferrari. In fact, the discussions with Mercedes that took place earlier this year are still on track. According to Lewis Hamilton, a new contract with Mercedes is ready to be signed soon.

“Unless you hear from me (to move to Ferrari), then it is,” Lewis Hamilton, quoted from the Formula 1 website today, Friday, May 26, 2023.

He hopes the contract extension talks with Mercedes will be completed in the coming weeks.

“My team is working behind the scenes with Toto (Mercedes boss Toto Wolff), we have almost finished preparing the contract.

This weekend’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix will be livened up by Mercedes’ much-anticipated upgrade package. The German factory team will launch revised race car sidecars.

Mercedes entered the Monte Carlo race third in the constructors’ standings. While the second place is Aston Martin and the fourth is Ferrari.

As for Lewis Hamilton and his teammate, George Russell, they finished fourth and sixth in the F1 driver’s race.
