Land Rover released in the UK a special edition of one of its special models, the Defender.

The special edition will be called the Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition and will be limited to just 30 units, which will be the result of cars produced from 2012 to 2016.

Each release unit will be created from the restoration and updating of the models being released.

The Defender Islay version will be produced in 90 versions for 230 thousand pounds (R $ 1.4 million) and 110 for 245,000 pounds (R $ 1.5 million).

The name refers to the tradition of the brand, as the Isle of Islay in Scotland was the birthplace of Land Rover in 1948.

In addition, the special edition honors Spencer Wilks, one of the founders of the brand and will feature details inspired by the Land Rover Series lla model from 1965.

Model Parameters

The Defender Islay Edition will be powered by a 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine with 405 hp and 52.5 kgfm of torque, coupled with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

The model goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 170 km/h, with updated features compared to the Defender line.

This kit modernizes the suspension, shock absorbers and brake discs.

A luxury model will have the best qualities for those looking for a handcrafted car, such as collectors.

Of the 30 copies to be launched, 17 will be part of the 90th edition, while the other 13 will be the 110th edition.

The 90 version has a smaller wheelbase, while the 110 version is known for its 7-seat capacity.

The Defender V8 Islay Edition is finished in “Heritage” Silver with a contrasting roof and steel wheels, also finished in Silver.

The refined model features branding and a special edition in body color.

Inside, the model has Ebony leather, special stamps and hints of history on the plaques, touch devices and wood finishes.

The model will also touch on Land Rover’s 75th anniversary, with the Defender 75th Limited Edition landing in Brazil earlier this year, as announced on Garage360.

At that time, only copies were available for Brazilian buyers and arrived in the country in the Itatiaia area of ​​Rio de Janeiro.
