Land Rover Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition launched in Europe – Prisma

Land Rover has brought back to life the old generation Defender, which was discontinued in 2016 in Europe. There, only 30 units of the model called Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition will be sold. In total, there are 17 units of the 90 version and 13 of the 110 configuration.

The Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition was created by Land Rover Classic’s historic preservation division. To assemble these 30 units, the brand bought models made between 2012 and 2016 to transform them into a special edition.

Visually, this special edition was inspired by the configuration of the Land Rover Series IIa, which was used by Spencer Wilks, one of the creators of the original 4×4 system. The name even pays tribute to the Scottish island, where the first examples of the brand were tested in 1947. The Classic Defender Works V8 Islay edition has the color Heritage Grey, which is a shade of gray and retro.

However, under the hood, the Land Rover Classic Defender Works V8 Islay Edition is equipped with the current Defender engine, which is a 5.0 liter V8 petrol, which produces up to 400 hp. The transmission is a ZF eight-speed automatic.
