Kia Indonesia Releases New Carens Variant with Captain Seat!

STRATEGI.ID – Kreta Indo Artha (KIA) gave a refresh to the KIA Carens by launching a new variant, namely the captain’s seat.

KIA has models with captain’s seats, available on models with a 1,500 cc engine and an automatic transmission called IVT.

Responding to the needs of KIA car users in Indonesia for MPV vehicles, Ario Soerjo, Head of the Marketing and Development Department of KIA, explained that the change of the captain’s seat is a response to the needs of users.

“We are always interested in meeting the needs of consumers in Indonesia by delivering products that are suitable and have high value,” said Ario on Thursday (25/5).

The new Kia Carens variant, which is powered by the 1.5L IVT 6-seater, complements the existing two variants, which are the 1.5L IVT 7-seater and the 1.4T DCT-6-seater.

This new Carens variant is still powered by the 1,500 cc Smartstream Gamma II engine that produces 115 PS of power at an engine speed of 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of up to 144 Nm at an engine speed of 4,500 rpm.

Power and torque are directed to the front wheels via an 8-speed IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) transmission system.

This car also has 3 drive modes that can be adjusted according to the driving style, i.e. Sport, ECO and Normal.

Additionally, this car is equipped with travel aids such as ventilated Front Seats to cool the 2 front seats, Sunroof, Ambient Light and Wireless Charging.

Type-C smartphone charging is also available in the seat rows.

On the entertainment front, the Kia Carens has an 8-inch touchscreen head unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connectivity, and has a premium audio system from Bose with 8 speakers.

Carens also have six airbags, and are equipped with features such as Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Hill Start Control (HAC), Hill Start Brake Control (DBC), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
