According to the Head of the Medan City Police Headquarters, Iptu Syahri Ramadhan, the incident of the car catching fire happened around 07.00 WIB.

“This morning we received information that a BK 1875 GM car caught fire at Jalan Sutomo, Jalan Merbabu intersection,” Syahri told Medan Tribune, Monday (9/1/2023).

He said, after getting the information, his party immediately went to the area.

With the help of residents, the officers tried to help put out the fire that started in the Chevrolet car.

“It didn’t take long for the firemen to arrive, also to help put out the burning car,” he said.

Syahri also said that the temporary cause of the fire was a short circuit in the engine.

“Preliminary suspicions are that the car got a short circuit in its electrical part and then caught fire. There were no victims,” ​​he said.
