Hyundai has released the first official images of the new compact SUV, which has been named the Mufasa.
The novelty has the same name as the King of the Lion King from the well-known animated story of the Lion King from 1994. However, in addition to the name, the car is also attractive with its appearance, which provides several different design elements.
Attention is given, for example, to the design of the front parts, which boast a large radiator grille and unusual lights. The X-shaped solution used may even remind the current generation Kia Sportage.
Perhaps even more interesting are the rear lights, designed in the shape of a large oval, inside which there is an inscription of Mufasa. The rising lower line of the windows and the rounded sides around the fenders are also worth mentioning – the same design element is used by the Hyundai Tucson.
In terms of specifications, the Mufasa fits among the lower mid-range SUVs. The novel is 4475 mm long, 1850 mm wide and 1655 mm long. The wheelbase reaches 2680 mm.
So far, we have only one motorization confirmed, which is a four-cylinder gasoline engine aspirated with a volume of two liters, producing a maximum output of 118 kW. The engine is complemented by a six-speed automatic transmission, in which the power of the unit goes to the front wheels.
An unusual engine for today’s time shows that the Hyundai Mufasa is not a car made for European customers. It was designed primarily for the Chinese market, we still have no information about sales in other countries. The new product will be presented to the public next week at the Shanghai Auto Show.
