Hennessey VelociRaptor 500: Ford Ranger’s beastly recorder

American Hennessey has done its miracle again: it has prepared a package – even more – of wild appearance and performance of the new Ford Ranger Raptor, which produces 500 hp and costs 23,235 euros in America.

The Hennessey VelociRaptor 500 is based on the Ranger Raptor, which costs €53,040 in the US. This means that its replacement is about half the price of the car. When it leaves the factory, the Ranger Raptor features Twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine producing 405 hpthrough the familiar 10-speed automatic transmission.

Hennessey adds new intake system, bigger intercooler with twin turbo cooling and new engine management softwareraise the performance of the American motor to 500 hp and 745 Nm of torquewhich is 165 Nm more than the factory version.

In terms of appearance, Hennessey has added to the VelociRaptor 500 new bumpers -with model name and protective bar in front-, metal floor guards, additional LED street lighting, and steaming hooks. Its wheels are also new, 18 inch wheels with 10 spokes, black color and road tires 32 inches.

The interior is rich and American house logo on headerswashable plastic mats, including a special metal plate which indicates the copy number of the model.

As for off-roading, the Ford Ranger Raptor has it from the factory four-wheel drive, multiplying the transmission ratioand separate front and rear locks. It also has Suspension Fox Live Valve Internal Bypass and driving profile selectable drives include Normal, Tow/Haul, Sport, Slippery, Off-Road, Rock Crawl, and Baja.

The VelociRaptor 500 Ranger is a more “refined” option for those who don’t need the big VelociRaptor 600.which is a conversion of the Ford F-150 pick-up, according to the company’s founder and CEO, John Hennessey.
