Gran Turismo 7: The World Series is back – Gaming Record

Detailed information from Sony

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) and Polyphony Digital announced, through a post on the Official PlayStation® Blog, the start of the Gran Turismo World Series 2023, a championship open to all players who own a copy of Gran Turismo 7™, whether for PlayStation. ®5 or PlayStation®4.

The series consists of two championships: the “Cup of Nations”, where drivers compete as representatives of their country (or territory) and the “Manufacturers’ Cup”, where drivers compete under the contract of their favorite manufacturer.

Gran Turismo World Series 2023 will bring major changes to the racing format. The Nations Cup and Manufacturers Cup will run through a seven-round Network Series, with the top-ranked players participating in the 2023 World Series Championship in August and the 2023 World Finals in December, where the 2023 series champions.

As usual, the in-person events will be streamed online, complete with commentary on the close battles between the world’s best riders.

The 2023 season will feature two major events where Gran Turismo® fans will once again be able to enjoy live head-to-head racing. The first will be held on August 11 and 12 in Amsterdam and the second will be the World Final which will be held at the beginning of December in a place that has not yet been announced.

Below we leave a summary of the main differences of this 2023 season:

A new Cup of Nations for the team

The first round of the Nations Cup Online Series takes place tomorrow, May 13. As with the previous Online Series, players will compete for points individually, but in head-to-head events like the World Series Championship, the top three players from The major leagues in each country (or district) will compete as a team.

In this year’s Cup of Nations it will also be possible to get a large representation of each country (or district). Watch and find out what happens when veteran riders, like last year’s champion Coque López (Spain), team up with up-and-coming newcomers.

Will Subaru be able to justify the name again? An aggressive clash in the Manufacturers Cup is expected

The Manufacturers Cup will start on June 7, about a month after the Nations Cup. After seven rounds of the Online Series have been played, 12 manufacturers, comprising the best teams in the World Manufacturers List and our partners Toyota, Genesis and Mazda, will enter the World Series Championship and the World Final.

With a dominant win in the 2022 Series, Subaru secured its second championship win. With the defending champions on a winning streak, which manufacturer or manufacturers will they be up against? It’s going to be another emotional year in the Manufacturers’ Cup.
