Henrik Fisker, owner of a car company Fisker Inc., agreed with the Taiwanese giant Foxconn on the joint production of the unusual electric car Fisker Pear. He should rewrite the rules and start with a price below the USD 29,900 (CZK 710,000) threshold before considering subsidies, i.e. below the level of the cheapest full-size electric cars in the USA. This attractive price will be achieved thanks to innovative production processes with a limitation of the number of parts and operations required. However, it should offer an extravagant design and a number of novel technical solutions, led by unusual lights and a panoramic windshield in the style of a small plane.
#Business Update: We are pleased to confirm the production location of our 2nd car – #FiskerPEAR it will be based on Fisker’s proprietary platform and assembled at Foxconn’s manufacturing facility in Ohio, starting in 2024. We expect to build about 250,000 units per year after scaling! pic.twitter.com/EWXyQtiorS

The car should be manufactured at the Ohio factory, which Foxconn bought from bankrupt Lordstown for 230 million dollars (5.5 billion crowns) and plans to invest another hundred million dollars there. The factory covers an area of 576,000 square meters2 it is said to be fully functional, so further investment will only go to improvements and fixes. The annual production capacity should reach at least 250,000 vehicles per year after full upgrading. Fisker has not yet started production of its first Sea model, but plans to expand the production program downwards.
