Fiat closes 2022 by leading the 500 in sales and electrification.

The Fiat 500 was the main character of the year for the Italian brand. Not only does it lead the Spanish urban car market, with a share of 47%, but its electric versions take second place in the list of “zero emission” models.

In 2022, Fiat made a major breakthrough in the electric car segment, where it already holds fourth place, with 2,027 registrations, more than double compared to last year.

Similar to dolce vita and the Italian lifestyle, the Fiat 500 adds universal sustainability to its philosophy, as demonstrated by a variety of hybrid and electric versions. The heir to the legend of the “Cinquecento” conquers the Spanish cities if we look at the registration numbers for 2022: with 14,467 units sold, it leads the segment of urban cars, with a market share of 47% in its category.

Furthermore, this model is the basis of Fiat’s electric strategy. The Fiat 500 Electric is already the second best-selling “zero-emissions” model in Spain, with 1,661 registrations, representing a growth of 81.9% compared to 2021 and a market share of 6.1% in the electric category.

The contribution of the Fiat 500 Elettrica was instrumental in bringing the Italian brand to fourth place in the electric car market, where it doubled its sales to 2,027 registered units, 113% more than last year.

In commercial vehicles, Fiat Professional closed a year of growth where it finished the year in 5th place, with a market share of 6.8%. The result is that the electric versions of Fiat Doblò, Scudo and Ducato stand out, reaching the top positions in the standings with a penetration of 8.3% in the “zero” van category.

For Fiat, 2023 will be a year of growth and innovation, with electrification as a key player. In the spring, the Abarth 500 BEV will show that electric technology does not conflict with performance or sportiness. For the Autumn-Winter season, Fiat plans to launch new models in a very different segment but with electricity as a standard feature. In addition, the brand will expand its commercial network in Spain from the current 102 sales to 112 points of sale.
