Ferrari is preparing to bring its first updates to Miami for the 2023 season.
Charles Leclerc managed to take the first pole position and the first podium of the 2023 Formula 1 season for Ferrari at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
But the Monaco driver could do little in the race against the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Finally, he crossed the finish line in third place, about 20 seconds behind the Mexican driver.
Some of this gap is set to be compensated in the upcoming races as the team will bring their first updates soon.
Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur has confirmed that the first updates will come to Miami.
“We will come to Miami with the next race with the updates. We will see how the car reacts to these updates,” Vasseur said.
“The update is important, but how we get the best out of this update is also very important.” say.
While Vasseur said little about the nature of the update, he noted that the team is on the right track.
“We mustn’t fool ourselves; Red Bull is fast right now.”
“Still, we’ve had clear stability problems so far, but this weekend the car has been more stable.”
“I think we’re moving in the right direction.”
Ferrari is trying with all its might to understand where Red Bull’s huge DRS advantage comes from.
“We need to learn what they are doing. We still have a lot to improve in this area,” Vasseur said. say.
