This Saturday (27), McLaren had an emotional rating. While Oscar Piastri was left out of Q3 by 0.018s, Lando Norris ended up hitting the wall at the end of Q2, so he had a chance to play fast in Q3, but was stopped by Charles Leclerc.
“Disappointing qualifying for two reasons: One was my fault, hitting the wall, I made a mistake. The technicians did a great job restoring everything, so a big thank you to them. “Unfortunately we were completely compromised on my fastest lap in Q3, which wasn’t our fault,” Norris said.
“Unfortunately, it wasn’t the result we wanted. We probably wouldn’t have achieved more, but maybe P8 was possible, which for Monaco means a lot.”
“P11. It’s a shame that I didn’t get into Q3 a bit, but I’m happy with the improvement I’ve made. We struggled in the practice sessions so I’m very happy to be so close to Q3 in qualifying. Just one place behind the top ten and anything can happen tomorrow. We’ll work work hard tonight and see what we can do to get points tomorrow.”
