For some time Charles Leclerc has been linked with rumors of an exchange with Lewis Hamilton. While the seven-time champion would go to Ferrari, the Monegasque would start a new journey at Mercedes.
The rumors start from the fact that Hamilton has not yet renewed his agreement with Mercedes for next year, while Leclerc, who has a contract until the end of 2024, will not be satisfied with the performance of the Italian team.
This week, it was reported that Ferrari made a generous offer to Hamilton, sparking more excitement in the Formula 1 circus. Leclerc, in a conversation with the Monaco Matin newspaper, said there were no talks of a swap between the teams.
“No conversation has been initiated. So ask Fred [Vasseur] when he plans to start a conversation. I really focus on things in the song. I love Ferrari”, emphasized the Monegasque.
“When my contract expires at the end of 2024, I can understand people thinking about it. Rumors are there, all right, but they don’t affect me”, continued Leclerc when asked about his name being linked to Mercedes.
