Alfa Romeo drivers finished their work in Monaco satisfied with the performance this Friday (26). In the first practice session, Valtteri Bottas was P11 and Guanyu Zhou P19. In the second session of action on the track, Bottas set the eighth fastest time with Zhou 13th.
“It was a good and productive day and what we needed to finally test our new updates. I could already feel a positive difference, even if we have to work a little to get the most out of this package. It’s a hopeful sign, especially since the field is very tight and small improvements can make a big difference.”
“Overall it was an interesting day, the track kept getting better every lap and as always in Monaco so was my confidence. Traffic is always a problem here, but today we managed to drive well. Now we need to focus on qualifying,” added Finn.
“Overall, a promising day for us. FP1 was not the smoothest session and it was difficult to find a rhythm, but the last session was a success for us. The first impressions of the improvement package are positive, although it is still early days, and I feel that there is still little chance for me and the car to improve more and be ready for tomorrow,” Zhou said.
“It seems that we have managed to continue where we left off in Miami and I am looking forward to qualifying. We also look strong in the long run, so if we can translate today’s work into a good position in the standings then we can fight for the points. Tomorrow will be difficult, it’s always here, but we can be in the fight for a good result”, concluded the Chinese driver.
