Dacia Duster 2024 Price, Release Date, Review, & Interior

The highly anticipated third-generation Dacia Duster is soon to make its debut. Having been spotted on various European roads during its development and fine-tuning, we now have nearly definitive details about the extensively revamped SUV from France.

Dacia continues to generate buzz with each new feature it unveils. The brand’s recent success with the Jogger has been so overwhelming that production at its Romanian plant had to be temporarily halted. In Mioveni, preparations are already underway for the arrival of one of the most eagerly anticipated releases in recent years.

We are referring to the Dacia Duster, whose third generation is expected to be unveiled to the public before the conclusion of 2023, with plans for it to hit the roads in spring 2024. This SUV holds the promise of becoming a bestseller, remaining true to the philosophy that has propelled its success in recent years while enhancing all aspects of its design.

In 2022, the Dacia Duster emerged as the third best-selling SUV in Europe and secured a commendable ninth position in the overall Top 10 rankings. However, Dacia is not content with its current success and aims to surpass its achievements with the introduction of a third-generation Duster that brings about substantial changes.

According to reliable sources from L’Argus in France, significant details or “indiscretions” have been divulged regarding the upcoming generation of the Dacia Duster. This new iteration will finally make use of the CMF-B platform from the Renault Group, the same platform utilized in the latest Sandero and Jogger models, albeit with larger dimensions.

While the previous Dacia Duster measured 4.34 meters in length, reports suggest that the new generation will surpass 4.44 meters, resulting in increased interior space and a greater cargo volume. These enhancements will undoubtedly contribute to the overall practicality and functionality of the vehicle.

Dacia Duster 2024 Exterior

The forthcoming Dacia Duster will not only feature a revamped exterior design but will also integrate a host of advanced technologies. Furthermore, it promises to deliver a remarkable improvement in on-road performance. To achieve this, the new Duster will incorporate the same multi-link rear axle found in the future Renault 4 and 5 models, as well as the Alpine A290. This advanced rear axle system is known for enhancing stability, handling, and overall driving dynamics.

With these substantial updates, Dacia intends to position the third-generation Duster as a highly competitive offering in the SUV segment, catering to customers who prioritize interior space, cargo capacity, technological advancements, and improved driving capabilities.

The final design of the Dacia Duster has been kept under wraps, but thanks to spy photos of the test mules and recreations, we can form a general idea of what to expect from the future model.

The upcoming SUV will introduce a fresh exterior appearance, featuring the new logo prominently displayed on the front. The vehicle will showcase more robust, geometric, and taut lines, along with pronounced wheel arches and a more commanding front end. Overall, it will project a more off-road-oriented image while adhering to the principle of minimalist design.

As for the interior, details have been kept strictly confidential. However, L’argus has shared an image of the cabin that reveals a digital instrument cluster positioned behind the steering wheel. Additionally, a centrally located touchscreen is visible, which is likely to become a standard feature. Unlike some other Dacia or Renault models, the touchscreen appears to be seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, rather than floating above it.

Dacia Duster 2024 Price

It has been previously announced that the new Dacia Duster would be bidding farewell to diesel engines. With this knowledge in mind, the next step was to determine the engine lineup, considering that the Euro 7 regulations have yet to establish a release date. Consequently, Dacia has chosen to introduce the new engines from the Renault Group in two phases.

Initially, the affordable SUV will be equipped with the same hybrid version found in the Jogger, featuring a 140-horsepower 1.6-liter engine. Additionally, there will be a 105 horsepower 1.0 TCe GLP version and a 130 horsepower 1.2-liter petrol version, both paired with a manual gearbox.

A new dual-clutch automatic transmission is expected to be introduced, along with 1.2-liter micro-hybrid versions producing 120 and 140 horsepower, both available with LPG. Furthermore, a new hybrid variant with a 1.8-liter engine will replace the aforementioned version.

4×4 versions with a mechanical rear differential will also be offered, although the implementation of the Euro 7 regulations has compelled engineers to develop an e-AWD system with an electric rear differential.

By the end of this year, the final design of the Dacia Duster III should be unveiled. The Dacia Duster will continue to distinguish itself through its competitive pricing in comparison to its rivals. However, it should be noted that the prices for the new generation will not be as low as the current ones or those from a few years ago. While the launch of the latest update previously announced a starting price of 16,050 euros, it is now predicted that the new generation will start at 19,000 euros in the French market.

As for the hybrid versions, it is estimated that they will begin at 26,000 euros. These higher prices reflect the increasingly competitive SUV segment and the introduction of more affordable offerings, particularly from Chinese manufacturers.
