Competing with Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, Will Kia Pickup Greet Australia by 2025?

JAKARTA – To compete with Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, Kia will present a pickup truck for the Australian market.

Reported from drive.com orSaturday May 27, Kia Ute will appear in 2025 businesses. It is also said that this pickup from Kia will be a big rival to both cars.

The Kia pickup has the model code “TK”, however the name that will be used for the pickup has not yet been announced or leaked.

It is reported that the Pickup from Kia will have the same towing and towing capacity as its competitors. This means that the pickup has a maximum rated load of up to 3,500 kg and a maximum payload of around 1,000 kg.

It is not yet known which engine will be used in this pickup. However, it is likely that Kia will launch a model with a diesel engine.

That means the pickup will likely share powertrains with the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe, namely the 2.2-liter 4-cylinder diesel or the 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder diesel in the Genesis GV80 luxury SUV.

Given that the manufacturer is also venturing into the world of electrification, an EV version of the pickup will also follow and Kia is developing two electric pickups. Although, the size will be different than in Kangaroo country.

Unlike other manufacturers who enter into joint ventures with other manufacturers to build an image, take Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok as examples, Kia prefers to develop it on its own.

They consider that Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger are the benchmarks in pickup development.
