Jakarta –
PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) has actually partnered with PT Handal Indonesia Motor, to produce cars in Indonesia. For the record, Chery has started assembly in Indonesia, but its status is still CKD or Total Knock Down.
Chery Indonesia has carried out the first car assembly process in Indonesia on September 20 2022. This first assembly process was carried out by Chery in a factory owned by its partner, namely PT Handal Indonesia Motor. However, Chery is sure to have big plans when it has a factory and produces cars in Indonesia.
“In the initial phase we still continue to work together (with PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM)) because in the near future we will have our own factory. But we do not have a permanent plan to cooperate with the local assembly, because we have plans to have our own factory themselves,” said PT CSI Brand Head, Rifkie Setiawan last week.
