Geraldo Alckmin, vice president and minister of Development, Industry, Trade and Services, presented this Thursday (25) measures to make cars cheaper in the country.
The expectation is that the models will be less than R$ 60 thousand, according to the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (Anfavea), according to the policy of each car manufacturer.
+ Popular car: the government offers a package at a low price
+ Sales of new electric cars in Brazil jump over 50% in 2023
+ Brand new car sales are 32% below the pre-crisis period
Check out the highlights below:
- IPI, PIS and Cofins will have a discount on cars up to R$ 120 thousand;
- For vehicles above this value, nothing changes;
- The maximum discount will be 10.96% and the minimum 1.5%.
However, the plan is being discussed in the Ministry of Finance. The folder will have 15 days to present the parameters used in the version of the command (to reduce the IPI) and the measure of time (MP), in order to reduce the PIS/Confins. Later, it will be sent for approval by the National Assembly.
But then, will cars get cheaper? How much? Well, this still needs to be done by the government. But when discounts don’t come, check out the cheapest cars currently on sale in Brazil.
