Rome, January 7 Pickup trucks led the best-selling cars in America last year but, for the first time, Tesla entered the top 10 as the shock of the Covid era continues among other popular models. Despite posting its lowest sales since 2012, the Ford F-Series is the best-selling car in the country for the 41st year and the best-selling truck in America for the 46th year in a row. The Chevrolet Silverado regained its second spot after being overtaken by the Ram pickup truck in 2021. Data and analytics firm Motor Intelligence reports that the Tesla Model Y electric crossover was the sixth best-selling vehicle in the country for the year of 2022, and win. Overall, Tesla reported that it shipped about 1.25 million Model Y and Model 3 vehicles worldwide in 2022.
