JAKARTA – Are you a casual car lover and on the hunt for high value rare items? If so, don’t miss the auction of 230 classic cars, including the rare Lancia B24 Spider America.

The cars, which were found in an abandoned warehouse and church in the Netherlands, are believed to be worth millions of euros. The owner is entrepreneur Dordrecht Ad Palmen, 82, who started collecting cars 40 years ago, according to the auction organizers.

Due to Palmen’s poor health, he can no longer keep the car and it was recently purchased by Gallery Aaldering, a car dealership run by Nico and Nick Aaldering, for an undisclosed amount.

“The Palmen Barnfind Collection” will be auctioned in the Netherlands from May 19 as part of an auction organized by Gallery Aaldering and Classic Car Auctions.

“The Barnfind Collection is truly a unique opportunity for car enthusiasts and collectors around the world to expand their collection,” Nico and Nick Aaldering said in a press release. CNN May 17.

At the same time, Carlo Te Lintelo, head of marketing of Gallery Aaderling told CNNPalmen’s treasure, which includes a white Mercedes 300 S, a blue Ferrari 365 to an Alfa Romeo Spider, was a closely guarded secret until a fire broke out at his home last year. The quick response of the fire department prevented the vehicles from catching fire.

Additionally, Palmen is believed to appreciate cars more than he likes a particular brand. Many models, including Maserati, Jaguar, Aston Martins, BMW and Facel Vegas are in the mainstream, says Te Lintelo.

“The cars are in good condition and very diverse. What you see is that people often focus on one brand when collecting cars like Mercedes Benz, Jaguar or BMW. Mr. Palmen doesn’t just collect expensive or exclusive cars, he buys everything he can think of. He is beautiful ,” said Te Lintelo.

“This collection includes very special cars. Like the Lancia B4 Spider America. As an example, the cars themselves will be sold for 600,000 to 700,000 euros (660,000 to 770,000 US dollars). They are very rare, only a few are made. If in perfect condition, they can sold for up to 1 million euros (1.1 million US dollars),” he explained.

According to Te Lintelo, there are still many unanswered questions about the collection because Palmen is too ill to tell his story.

“We have hundreds of questions about why he started collecting,” said Te Lintelo.

“There’s a lot of mystery around the car because he can’t answer. (That’s) very sad,” he said.

But there is one thing that Te Lintelo believes, cars are Palmen’s passion.

“He lived in a barn and had no luxury. Cars were his life. We wanted to honor his legacy. It was his whole life. The Aldering gallery carried cars but we chose to name the collection after him in his honor.”

It is known that the auction, which started on May 19 at 17:00 local time, was divided into three stages, citing the site. Classic Car Auctions.

The first auction closed on June 5, the second closed on June 6 and the third closed on June 7, all at 20:00 local time.
