Although the ice racing model is a concept, it is based on the current Audi RS e-tron GT model. Audi did not provide specifics on the modified version of the powertrain. But the high-performance sports car is the brand’s fastest and most powerful model ever.

Powered by the same system as the Porsche Taycan, the Audi RS e-tron GT delivers up to 522 horsepower (637 horsepower in boost mode), from 0 to 60 mph – which is very close to 0 to 100 km/h – in 3.1 seconds.

The RS e-tron GT’s 93.4 kWh battery offers a range of up to 373 km. Furthermore, with 270 kW DC fast charging, the electric sports car’s battery can charge from 5% to 80% in 22.5 minutes.

Audi says it’s time to embrace the future of performance with a new concept, which is “ready to break the ice”. The brand is expected to reveal more details of the ice racing version of the Audi RS e-tron GT during its official debut, scheduled for this Sunday (28).

Although the concept has exciting new colors including grey, white and purple, it doesn’t seem to include any major changes to the exterior design.

The video shows the new electric sports car concept alongside the similarly designed Audi sports quattro, which also appears to have an electric powertrain.

Audi said the ice racing version of the RS e-tron GT is based on the heritage of the GP Ice Race, a European winter event featuring sports cars traversing icy terrain. As shown in the video, some people are dragged on skis on frozen lakes during the event.

The automaker launched other electric car models – including the Q6 e-tron and the A8 EV. In fact, the latter should be more powerful than the RS e-tron GT.
