JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan are determined to perform well and bring their best results at the 2022 BWF World Tour Finals in Bangkok, Thailand, December 7-11.

Fajar/Rian reached the 2022 World Tour Finals as top seeds thanks to their excellent record in eight finals, including four titles from the Swiss Open, Indonesia Masters, Malaysia Masters and Denmark Open.

“I didn’t expect to be able to play the World Tour Finals for the first time and immediately become the first seed. Also nominated for ‘Most Improved Players 2022’. We hope we can win this award,” said Rian as quoted from Antara, Sunday ( 4 /12/2022).

At the same time, Fajar said that both were more confident to finish this year with the championship title from the season closing tournament.

“This year’s competition is really not easy. The results in the first two competitions were not good, but Alhamdulillah the end of the year may be here. Now I want to focus on giving the title to Indonesia, so we are asking for the prayers and support of the whole community. I hope we can close the tournament at the end of this year sweetly,” said Fajar.

“The preparation conditions are difficult, but because it takes place in Thailand which is not too far from Indonesia in terms of distance and culture, there should not be any problems. The supporting side, such as good food, makes it easier to adapt and more comfortable,” Fajar explained. .

Meanwhile, Ahsan/Hendra, who are the second seeds, admitted that they were surprised by their passage to the 2022 World Tour Finals. The duo nicknamed The Daddies were lucky enough to spend almost a whole month training after participating European competition.

“I’m surprised to be able to get into the World Tour Finals again but I’m grateful Alhamdulillah. The preparations were also good because there was almost a month after yesterday’s European tour,” Ahsan said as quoted by Antara, Sunday (4/12).

Owning the first and second seeds, it is certain that Fajar/Rian and Ahsan/Hendra will not be in the same group in the group stage.
