According to Italian media, Leclerc will be at Ferrari until 2029, there is no agreement with Sainz yet.

We recently wrote that Ferrari had started contract extension talks with both pilots, but there were not many details about the agreement at the time.

Today, La Gazzetta dello Sport shared some interesting details based on the information it received from its sources.

According to the news, Ferrari and Leclerc have almost agreed on a multi-year contract that will end at the end of 2029. The parties have agreed in principle and there are a few legal procedures left.

If this news is true, Leclerc will have spent at least 13 years within the Maranello-based team.

The situation is different for Carlos Sainz, whose contract expires after 2024, like Leclerc.

According to La Gazzetta, negotiations with him are ongoing, but the Spanish pilot has not decided whether he will accept the proposed terms.

According to rumors, Sainz wants to sign a contract for at least two years, while Ferrari only offers him a one-year contract, which is only 2025.

One possible reason for this approach is that Ferrari does not want to miss the opportunity to call another driver to the team. Possible candidates include Lando Norris, whose contract with McLaren expires in 2025.

If Sainz leaves Ferrari, the possible options for him could be McLaren and Red Bull, depending on the situation.
