“Bengera” – Giorgos Perou
Giorgos Perou presents a cover of the song “Vengera”. The song captures all the nuances of the feeling of nostalgia from the master of the genre, the singer Irini Halkou (Halkorini) who released the song of the island and its lyrics. The music is by our great soloist and songwriter Giorgos Konitopoulos. 2 popular performances, always with the composer himself on the violin, are Irini Konitopoulos-Legakis and Yiannis Parios. The images from the video were taken in 1967 by the then young immigrant Manolis Tsafos during a visit to his and the singer’s village, Danakos in mountainous Naxos.
“Excess” – Andreas Lambrou
Songwriter Andreas Lambrou brings us his new song “Disruptive” with lyrics and music now from Heaven Music. This is a powerful retro wave song with fond references from the past and especially from the 80s, but with a very current and modern treatment! New single ‘Subversive’ is out now on Heaven Music and available on all digital platforms.
“Fire in port” – Eleftheria Patsis
The Pavlos Pavlidis fire has been burning in me for a while now. I feel grateful that my long-time desire to play it on the classical guitar has come true. The great joy that passed through the hands of Sofia Pyrunakis, the deep love that was colored by the touches of my songwriter friend Panos Birba and a big hug also to my friend, long time collaborator Elena Kosmopoulou for her beautiful and sad video. I thank Pavlos Pavlidis from the bottom of my heart, whom I stubbornly followed from a young school age in the concert halls of Thessaloniki, for his kind words and kind consent. Pavlos Pavlidis, you are the poet of the sky, the musician who confirmed my youthful instincts. Your fan forever!
“Don’t get lost” – Yiannis Yokarinis
Nostalgic Rock’n’Roll Yiannis Yokarinis returns with a new Single and declares his anger at everything that happens around us and affects us! In 2020, under the shadow of this pandemic and in the midst of restrictions and oppression, Yannis Yokarinis chose creation as a way out of what happened. So like all “Quarantines”, this is how “A Na Hathisiri” was created. The brand new video clip shows in the best way and in conversation with society all our thoughts about what we live. The lyrics of the song, written by Panos Iliopoulos, who is no longer with us, belong to more than 35 years of history. As Giannis says: “NOTHING has changed and it won’t be the way we’re going… And that’s what makes the song timeless, unfortunately!” The revolutionary and at the same time kind, Yiannis Yokarinis, comes to make his presence felt, in a song that is modern but at the same time timeless. Coming 28/04, produced by DJ Gonis! Released by Alpha Records.
