12,019 Skoda Superb, Fabia, Octavia, Roomster, Yeti, CITIGO, Rapid and Kodiaq recalled for airbags

The General Secretariat of Industry in collaboration with Kosmocar AE, the main representative and importer of Skoda Auto cars in Greece, announces the recall of 12,019 Superb, Fabia, Octavia, Roomster, Yeti, CITIGO, Rapid and Kodiaq cars, with production years from 2011 until 2018.

Affected vehicles, according to the manufacturer, with a low-production Takata driver’s front airbag are at risk of damage to the gas generator cover if the driver’s airbag deploys. In the event of an accident with the driver’s front airbag activated, pieces of metal can be detached from the generator housing (cover) and thus injure the occupants of the vehicle.

So far, no accident case has been reported related to this particular problem. All owners of the above vehicles will be notified by personal letter, so that they can come to any authorized Skoda workshop they want, to change the gas generator / driver’s airbag unit, without any additional financial burden.
